A small, mechanical music box plays, slows down and stops. Synthesized sound with stereo light reverb effect. Duration 0'52". Three turns of a wooden boxed clockwork mechanical key followed by a bright, nonsensical music box tune. As the tune plays, the tempo slows down - gradually at first but becoming profoundly slower towards the end. Tune ends on a melancholic note mid phrase. Could be used as a standalone effect, or perhaps metaphorically as a cipher for the aging process and cessation of life. The clockwork key effect is a rapidly repeating single mechanical clock tick filtered to sound box-like. I was experimentally, recording the garage door opener, but then this happened: next door neighbor kick-starts motorcycle, idles it, an aircraft passes by, and then the motorcyclist rides away. Recorded sound is indirect except for a brief moment when the motorcycle pulls past the open garage door in the alley outside. Rain & distant thunder around 8pm in warren, michigan (suburb of detroit). Recorded on a zoom h1n. Some faint traffic sounds & a bit of white noise coming from an air-conditioner unit. Zoom h1n was placed in my porch light compartment about 2 feet below our rain gutter. Most of the original hour long recording was ruined due to wind gust, but i edited it down to the only continuous 11 minutes without the gust of wind.

Slowly the ship starts to spring to life. As you open your eyes, slow but huge bands of light sweeps across your cryogenic sleeping pod, as if being scanned. The pod starts to move while you're still in it, going through chambers filled with machinery and bleeping computer stations, until it stops in front of a huge closed door. Suddenly, your pod opens up as well as the door. The exciting thing about recording and cataloging natural sounds is how you get nice, unexpected surprises. I was up early recently one spring day and did not have any real plans to record, until i stepped outside with my coffee to see what the weather was like and was nicely surprised with the light, steady spring rain that was falling in my yard; during the whole time this energetic carolina wren kept on singing through the rain. I rain, got my recorder and recorded a full hour of this peaceful pattering. You hear the drops hitting the concrete patio, the shingled overhang and a plastic chair. I was recording outside my bedroom window while eating dinner in the living room, then i came back in here to see if i got anything interesting. I was zooming through the recording at 5x speed when i came across this bit of incidental pareidolia. I'm not sure what was going on, maybe the neighbors' stereo, but i don't remember hearing it, it's much louder in the living room so i should have. Whatever it was came out as a little distant choppy 2-notes alternating melody when played at 5x speed, which suddenly gets louder and solid as you hear the lower note followed by a third lower note. These 2 louder notes sound to me like someone singing the words all day. This would lead me to believe the original tones have some light harmonics i don't hear at normal speed. After which it goes back to the softer stuttering 2-note alternating thing from before. It doesn't sound like much at all at normal speed. So i just did a few straight pitch changes with goldwave until i got to 5x and saved this little file. See if it sounds like "all day" to you.

I'm trying to create a sound that resembles captain america's shield from the marvel movies. I took a recording of a metal garbage can ringing and brought it into iris 2. I cut the attack from the envelope and added light amplitude sine wave modulation. I also set a short decay. I also layered a clean sine wave underneath the recording sample in order to give the recording more umph and body when it resonates. This is the base of captain america's shield. These are two guitar solo outtakes from a guest guitar session i was asked to be on. They essentially wanted that early era slayer vibe where there is more cacophonous noise than structure. I think i recorded 15-20 for two sections in one song. They chose two other files and this was the one i liked best to keep as a memento. I am the creator and owner of the audio contained within the file. I know guitarists these days want to sound like an andy sneap plugin, but this may give someone a different idea. Within the context of the song they were for they fit well. I'm not apologizing for the playing or quality of the recording. Just something i did for a friend that took me 4x as long to set up than total time under the red light. It was fun.

This is heavily inspired by the urban myth and/or creepypasta called the backrooms, which have a very distinct atmosphere to them. This is my interpretation. However, this isn't exclusively for backrooms-related stuff! so by all means, if you're simply in need of some interior ambience of any sort, that's also why i made this for you. No advanced processing was used to achieve this sound. I recorded an electrical box in my garage for the buzzing. For the 2nd layer, i turned on some fans in my room, and made a long mono recording of the white-noise. I then split the recording in half, and used each half for the left and right channel, giving it a stereo sound. I then spent an hour leveling all of it because i'm a perfectionist. Yay. Early spring thunderstorm in north central oklahoma recorded on 05/02/2018 starting at about 9:30 pm cdt. Recorded in the middle of the country by placing a mic outside the man cave window of my house. The storm starts with light rain and some medium distance thunder. At about 4:00 mins the wind starts to pick up and by 5 mins the wind sound drowns out everything else (50-60 mph gusts). By 6:00 mins the wind is fading as the storm front passes. By 9:00 mins it’s just soft rain and occasional thunder. At about 13:00 mins, the thunder starts picking up a bit. At about 17:00 mins it starts raining harder again, with occasional thunder, until the end. A couple of human noises were edited out, and noise reduction was applied.
